Brief Project Description:The program to be evaluated targeted vulnerable communities in Daikundi and Bamyan Provinces through Nutrition, WASH, kitchen garden and cash transfer programming to improve, WASH, health and Nutrition indicators and increase the food security for drought affected households. Bamyan Province will not be included in the evaluation, as activities stopped in Nov/Dec 2020 and the Medair office was closed in February 2021. Therefore, the focus of the evaluation will be of the two-year intervention in Daikundi and Urozgan Provinces. In the latter part of the project Medair commenced programming in Tirinkot District of Uruzgan Province, including intervention assistance in Nutrition/health, WASH, and food security. Evaluation of the program in Uruzgan Province will be considered interim findings, as activities have been implemented for less than 12 months.

Brief Project Description:Afghanistan Women Enterprise Development Program (WREDP) was one of the national rural development programs funded by the World Bank Group. The program was being implemented in the frame work of Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development. One bigger component of this program was focused on promoting Afghan women made oriental carpets through a value chain development approach. Afghanistan Rugs and Capet Centre (ARCC’) was recruited by MRRD as partner to support project implementation and provide 5,000 carpet production frames, as well as provide 30 Kgs of wool and other equipment such as carpet weaving hooks, and stoles. The project post-distribution monitoring was awarded to TAR Business Consulting and TAR Business Consulting successfully monitored the project in 10 provinces through its provincial monitoring officers and successfully submitted the final report on the due date and time.
